Small Filters and Strainers

We manufacture many very small filters and strainers. Some are simple single-layer cylinders, while others are precision assemblies including flanges, bottoms, and machined rings or fittings.

Methods of Construction:

  • Resistance Welding: The most cost effective method for joining seam overlaps, attaching bottoms, flanges, and some fittings.
  • Soldering: Ideal when using brass and for joining dissimilar metals.
  • Brazing: Brazing is similar to soldering but uses filler metals with higher melting points.
  • Laser Welding: In certain high volume applications we laser weld butt seams.
  • Clenched Bindings: In many applications a binding component is crimped to the perimeter of a wire cloth screen to provide strength, encapsulate the screen edge, and provide a precision fit with mating components.
